The Areas & the Amenities

There are 3 main shooting areas for a total studio square footage of 3500 sq. ft. with the overall ceiling height varying between 14 and 20 feet.

  1. The main stage is 30′ x 50′ and has a 24′ x 29′ two-walled cove with a 17′ height and a pipe grid for lights at 14′. The cove is provided unpainted unless prior arrangements have been made. If requested, there will be a painting charge in addition to the studio rate.
  2. The back area is 900 sq. ft. and can be used for production or shooting depending on the client’s needs and has a 12′ x 12′ roll-up door for west-facing available light and drive-in ability to the cyc.
  3. There is also a 300 sq. ft. upstairs shooting loft that is fully furnished as a mid-century styled lounge.

 

Ample secured parking, central A/C & heating, wireless Internet and the use of a 17″ iMac computer and printer are all provided with your rental.

 

All grip is included: 16 C-stands, 20 flags, 20 apple boxes, 20 sandbags, several 4′ x 8′ foamcore V-flat reflectors, as well as ladders and 2 large booms. There is blackout capability throughout the studio, if necessary. We are one half block from Calumet Photographic for additional equipment rental or supplies.

 

McCaddenSpace Studio is equipped with a separate kitchen with a full size stove, microwave, coffeemaker and two refrigerators. There is a stereo system with an iPod and dock as well as a 5 CD changer and CD library.

 

Our make-up room has 2 make-up or hair stations, a shower and a well-maintained private bathroom. There is a large separate dressing room with a steamer, iron, ironing board, hangers, rolling racks, full-length mirrors and an additional make-up station. Towels and robes are included.

 

Load-in and Parking:

Load-in is best accomplished through the brick-colored double-door entrance on the north alley side of the building – please see the Location page for details. Temporary parking for load-in is located in the parking lot immediately opposite this door. Look for the signs to direct you.

 

Secured Parking for 12 cars in the gated Kodak lot directly across the street on McCadden Pl. is provided. If load-in is not required, call 323-823-6943 or come to the studio entrance in the alley when you have arrived and someone will meet you at your car to let you into the lot. Street parking is available all day with no restrictions.
